NI YOUNG ECONOMIST OF THE YEAR COMPETITION NOW OPEN
The NI Young Economist of the Year competition is back — bigger and better for 2026! Open exclusively to Year 13 Economics students, this competition invites young economists to tackle real-world challenges in FinTech, productivity, skills, and public service reform.
Entry Formats:
Blog/Essay (1,500 words), Video/Podcast (5 mins), or Presentation (15 slides)
Key Rules:
- Max 3 entries per school
- Individual or groups of up to 5 students
- All school-level participants receive a certificate
Prizes:
Work experience at First Derivative, Amazon vouchers, trophies, and publication on NI Schools Hub.
Deadline: Friday 9 January 2026
Winners Announced: 21 January at Ulster University Economics Schools Conference.
